The project team took the results of Furetox searches for some thirty chemicals, and compared them to the results of a “manual search” done by the same team on Websites of scientific organisations.

Furetox was assessed for the search capacity when using the name of a chemical to retrieve the CAS registry number and different toxicity values set by the organisations, finding both the numerical value (quantity) and the unit.

Fact Sheet

Using a specially designed table to interpret the results, the project team filled out a fact sheet for each of the databases selected. Each sheet was drawn up by a member of the project team and read by a review committee comprised of a second member of the project team and two risk assessment experts (one DDASS, one CIRE).
